First Aid at Work

Today in the European Union, one person dies every 3½ minutes from work-related causes. That's over 150,000 deaths per year as a result of either work-related accidents (8900) or occupational diseases (142000). On the basis of these figures and taking into account the level of medical risk at work as well as the evolution of our society, the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work has made the following recommendation: « make Europe's workplaces safer, healthier and more productive ».

In order to do this, it is necessary to have trained men and women in every company, who can carry out First Aid at all time. These men and women must be able to intervene swiftly and efficiently in case of an accident to take care of the victims. They should also be able to detect a persistent risk, to avoid an aggravation of the situation, to assess the state of the victim, to alert and to rescue.

This is why we have developed a specific training programme, based on the official European Union’s recommendation for First Aid at work.

This training excludes dangerous acts.
The objective is to acquire first aid basic training in order to provide initial assistance while waiting for professional rescue teams to arrive.

This programme lasts 12 hours. It is suited for groups of 4 to 10 people and addresses the following topics:

  1. Accident at work on the premises.
  2. Professional risks: Why prevent?
  3. What is a first aid at work actor?
  4. Program presentation:
    • Protection
    • From protection to prevention.
    • Assessment of the victim.
    • Raising the alert
    • From raising the alert to informing.
    • Rescue.
    • Additional time will be allocated to discuss your company’s specific risks and requirements.
